Paddle Among the Icebergs: You’ll set off in the shimmering waters of Mendenhall Lake, located at the face of Mendenhall Glacier, where your group paddling efforts propel you among the icebergs in a traditional Tlingit canoe, much like the ones used by our Native ancestors hundreds of years ago. The lake is for non-motorized use only, keeping with a more traditional setting.
A World of Ancient Traditions: Our guides are experts on the natural and cultural history of the Mendenhall Glacier area. Journey with us, and you’ll enter a world of ancient traditions and myths, as we share with you the stunning beauty, wildlife and legends of this wild and magnificent land.
Your Guides: Our guides are highly qualified and experienced canoers. You’ll use a stable 28-foot canoe and the trip is suitable for all those weighing over 40 pounds. We’ll equip you with all necessary gear, including a paddle, a life vest, boots and rain gear.
